Yesterday our church had a dinner after service. I love the people in our church! Our praise and worship team usually has practice on Sundays, but I felt it important to spend some time to simply connect with one another. So we canceled practice and chose to take some time to love on people.

Relationships are what you make of them and they are only built and grown with effort. Any attempts made, have to be on purpose. When I was in nursing school, one of our instructors drilled the saying, “people don’t care what you know, until they know you care.”

Jesus taught us by example. Many times, HE and HIS disciples gathered around food. At times, when HE taught, HE not only fed people spiritual food, but physical food as well. Remember the 5000?

Ironically, this particular dinner centered around a fish fry. Speaking of the recorded account of feeding the 5000, they started with 5 loaves and 2 fish. But it really was about people and loving people. Jesus said in John 13:34 – this new commandment I give to you, love each other as much as I have loved you!

Let’s love and build and nurture relationships everyday.
