Yesterday I posted about a few of my favorite places and Walt Disney World is by far my absolute favorite place. I had never been until 2015 and even during that trip, I didn’t make it to any of the parks. I only stayed on property overnight.
For the next few posts, I am going to give you extensive details about my trip, but this post is going to be kind of an overview – or maybe we will call it the short version. My sweet cousin, Candy, had called me on my birthday, in May that year and had invited me to come along on a cruise with her for her birthday in September. This would be my first ever cruise…. and not just any cruise……. A DISNEY CRUISE!!
Talk about being blessed! It was one of the sweetest things ever! Always at the top of my list is spending time with family and I cannot begin to tell you how much I adore this girl and spending time with her is ALWAYS the best! I don’t care what we do!
So back to the Disney Cruise. It was set to be on the Disney Dream. I have been fortunate to travel to many places in my life, but I knew nothing about cruises, so this would be an all new adventure.
I was in the middle of a job transition, so the timing was perfect. Candy picked me up at the Orlando airport and we drove to Old Key West, where our accommodations were planned for the night.
We got to Old Key West and checked in, found our villa, and went to get ready for dinner. We had reservations at Narcoossees, which is one of Disney’s signature restaurants, located at the Grand Floridian.
The next morning we drove to Port Canaveral, where we parked to board the Disney Dream for our 4day/3night cruise. Everything was at our fingertips, from food to shows, to simply relaxing on the deck watching the water.
The final day back to port was very interesting, as our trip had fallen during one of the blood moons of that year. There was alot of turbulence on the water. My cousin had been on many cruises and she said the waves were the worst she had ever experienced.
I survived all of that, so I know one day I will go again! But seriously, it was extremely fun and I look forward to a repeat – maybe not the topsy turvy waves, but certainly the relaxation!
