Before you freak out about the picture and you think I am just being morbid, give me few minutes to explain…..
On every tombstone, there is a date. It starts with the day of a person’s birth and ends with the day of their passing on from this life. But the most interesting part of those significant dates is actually the dash in between.
This little mark signifies so much. It symbolizes memories from a life and hopefully a life well lived. Once a moment passes, it is gone forever. We can never go back in time.
There may be things in our lives that we would have rather been different and even some we would like to relive, due to the joy we experienced. But we cannot change the past. Whether we have made good choices in our lives, or some not so good, we still continue on and endure the consequences.
Psalm 90:12 is like a prayer to the Lord and encourages us to know the brevity of our days and to help us to spend them wisely.
Lets work on making the most of our dash!
